CDC updates guidelines regarding respiratory illness

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently updated guidelines for personal isolation related to respiratory illness. Based upon that, the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) has updated guidelines on its website as well. CDC is advising returning to normal activities when symptoms of respiratory illness have been getting better overall for 24 hours. If a fever is present, the CDC is advising to return to normal activities 24 hours after the fever has been gone without the use of fever-reducing medication. These are not mandatory; they are simply guidelines.
