Driver Education Classes are tentatively set to start on May 18th and conclude at the end of the following week.  Driving would then start the first week of June and be completed by June 14th.  Students are asked to take the dates listed below into consideration when scheduling summer activities.

To enroll in driver education a student must turn 14 by December 30, 2024. Students will pay a $100 fee to enroll in driver education and the Selby Area School District will pay any remaining fees. Each student is required to attend the 30 hours of in-person instruction as well as complete 6 hours of required driving time.

30 Hours In-Person Classroom Instruction - Classes are set to start Saturday, May 18th.  Classes would then conclude on Thursday, May 23rd.  Class time would be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with a working lunch).

6 Hours Required Behind the Wheel Instruction - Driving time will be scheduled once class begins.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to do some practice driving with the students to prepare them for the “Behind the Wheel” portion of driver education.  The more comfortable a student is with the operation of a vehicle, the better they tend to do in the “Behind the Wheel” portion of driver education.
