Brandi Beitelspacher, junior, represented Selby Area High School at the 78th Annual Band Clinic sponsored by Northern State University on November 5, 2025. The clinic brings in guest conductors to work with area students throughout the day, culminating in an afternoon concert. Students are assigned to either the Gold or Maroon clinic bands.
Brandi, a flutist, was a member of the Maroon Band under the direction of Mr. Jerome Letcher. The ensemble performed a diverse repertoire, opening with Blaze of Glory by Robert Sheldon, followed by a beautiful arrangement of the holiday favorite Mary Did You Know by James Meredith, and concluding with Stampede March by Randal Standridge.
The afternoon concert also featured the Northern State University Symphonic Band, showcasing how musicians from different backgrounds can come together to create and share music. The experience provided students like Brandi with valuable learning opportunities and an inspiring performance environment.
