50th Annual Mobridge Area Art Show

Exciting News from the Selby Area School Art Department!

Our students are preparing for the 50th Anniversary of the Mobridge Art Show, happening April 18–19, 2026! This is an event we participate in every year, and the milestone makes it even more special.

As part of the celebration, students from all participating schools created commemorative posters. From these, four posters per school were chosen to be featured in a special 2026 Art Show Calendar. Each calendar costs $20, and 100% of the proceeds go directly back to our students—supporting prize money and awards.

Congratulations to our four Selby student artists whose posters were selected:
Ella Perman (9th grade)
Brynnly Huber (9th grade)
Evan Olson (8th grade)
Hayes Thompson (7th grade)

Their posters—along with the work from the other schools—will be displayed at the show and printed in the calendar.

📅 Calendars will be available during the month of December.
If you’d like to support our student artists by purchasing a calendar, you can contact the school office or reach out to me, Mr. or Mrs. Knecht, directly. Students will also have calendars available to sell individually.

🏅 Why This Show Matters for Students
The Mobridge Art Show isn’t just an exhibition—it’s an incredible opportunity for young artists. Students can:
• Earn award money for placing 1st or 2nd in their categories
• Receive additional awards from outside organizations and sponsors
Showcase themselves as artists in a regional event
Sell their artwork to the public and gain real-world experience

We’ll share more details as the celebration gets closer—exciting things are happening!

Thank you for supporting the arts and our talented students!
