High School Students Attend National FFA Convention

Last week, the FFA students from Selby Area School went to a National FFA convention in Indianapolis, Indiana!

“The National FFA Convention & Expo is all about growing the next generation of leaders. During this event, find out who you are, who you want to become and how you can change how the world grows” (FFA 2021).

The students went on a 15 hour bus ride to get to the event. While in Indianapolis, the students were able to explore the city and go to many events. They went to Lucas Oil Stadium, and also attended a Brett Young concert at the Pacers Stadium. However, all of the students agreed that their favorite event was the “World’s Toughest Rodeo.” 11th Grader, Ava Schanzenbach, said, “The rodeo was my favorite part, because the performances were so good.”

9th Graders, Fisher Beck and Kendrah Friend, stated that their favorite part of the trip was meeting a famous Rodeo competitor, Daly Brisby. They also said that it was a lot of fun to meet people from all over the country. They made it their goal to take a picture with somebody from all 50 states.

The National FFA Convention opened up opportunities for these students to visit new places, meet new people, and learn new things. The trip was an eye opening experience that these students will never forget.
