Title Fun Night

On Tuesday, November 16th, we had a fun and exciting family literacy night in the lunchroom. Once everyone arrived, Mrs. Sadler gave a little introduction and pointed out some reading handouts and games for families to take home. Following that, Janine, and Mr. Schroeder served students and their families a meal.

Once the meal was finished, Mrs. Sadler had set up a variety of fun games for the students to participate in with the help of Justin Sadler, Ava Schanzenbach, Erica Stagnolia, Ms. Allerdings, and Ms. Holzer. They had a choice of rhyming bingo, riding the reading railway, ring toss, golf put, cup stacking, and blowing the golf balls off the tee. Riding the reading railway and golf put were by far the crowd favorites. A few students really flew across the lunchroom on those scooters!

Each of the students won at least one book as a prize. There were also door prizes won by Brady Baumann, Heather Baumann, and Carter Knecht. Mrs. Sadler said, "It was a fun night of literacy and laughter with families, and I hope to see even more there at next year's literacy fun night. If you have any questions about the literacy games or handouts given at the event, please email me at naomi.sadler@k12.sd.us. I have many extra copies available to hand out."

A special thank you to the volunteers above that helped with the games, Heather Van Well of Heather Van Well Mary Kay Independent Sales for the donation of snacks, and Martha Braun of Mr. Bob's Drive In for the donation of ice cream certificates. The families really loved them!
