South Dakota School Board Recognition Week is the time to recognize the men and women who dedicate their time and energy to serving on your locally elected school board. A special thank you to the members of the Selby Area School Board. Board Members include Brian Begeman (President)-19 years, Tom Fiedler (Vice-President)-12 years, Mike Hirsch, Brett Huber, Matt Mortenson, Pat Starks, and Steve Zabel.
“During School Board Recognition Week, we encourage public school districts to celebrate their elected leaders for their service to the students, staff, and community,” ASBSD Executive Director Wade Pogany said.
“The week presents all the opportunity to show our appreciation for the work of public school board members.”
South Dakota School Board Recognition Week is set for February 21-25, which may take place a week after some districts are scheduled to hold their monthly meeting, but we encourage your district to recognize school board members at their February school board meeting.
