Selby Area Art Students Participate in ArtWars
Sophia Von Wald (senior) and Ava Schanzenbach (Junior) participated in the SD ArtWars competition in Aberdeen at NSU on Saturday, February 19th. ArtWars can be described as a competition similar to an episode of “Chopped,” but with a prompt. The students were given a prompt in a category, and they had an hour and 45 minutes to create a work of art inspired by that prompt. The painting categories prompt was “dreamscape, “and the drawing was “tangled.” Sophia placed first in painting and second in drawing, and Ava received honorable mention in painting. These girls did outstanding in these categories.
